Fondato nel 1628, il collegio irlandese di Roma è l’ultimo dei tanti collegi irlandesi che furono fondati in tutta l’Europa, quando, in passato, non fu possibile educare i sacerdoti in Irlanda. Oggigiorno il collegio ospita 50 studenti, di cui la maggior parte irlandesi ed il resto di diverse nazionalità. Il collegio organizza molti eventi per gli irlandesi e per la comunità di Roma. Circa 40 coppie all’anno celebrano il loro matrimonio presso il collegio. I giovani vengono formati per i sacramenti del Battesimo, Prima Comunione e della Cresima.
Founded in 1628, this is the last of the many Irish Colleges that were once scattered over Europe when it was not possible to educate priests in Ireland. Today the College is home to 50 students, with a number coming from Ireland and the others representing many different nations. The College organises different events for the Irish and for the wider international community in Rome. Almost 40 couples celebrate their marriage at the College each year; young people are prepared for the sacraments of First Penance, First Communion and Confirmation.
